Kanye West
Kanye is not only John's friend but also one of his producers with whom Legend recorded several dozen songs. John was featured as a vocalist, pianist and co-writer on several tracks from Kanye West's debut album "The College Dropout", including "Graduation Song", "Family Business" and "Never Let Me Down" (also features Jay-Z ) (2004) and from Kanye's latest CD "Late Registration", including "Celebration". Legend appeared in many music videos with West as well, including "Slow Jamz", "The New Workout Plan", "This Way", "Number One", "Used To Love U", "Selfish", "Gold Digger" and "Grammy Family". And it's still not everything - Kanye West is also a director of Legend's "Ordinary People" and "So High" video clips. John had the opportunity to work with miss Keys on "You Don't Know My Name" (backgroud vocals), the lead single from "The Diary of Alicia Keys" (2003). He is also a co-writer, vocalist and pianist on Alicia Keys "If I Ain't Got You (Kanye West Remix)" (2004). Legend was opening for AKeys during her "The Diary Tour" in 2005. Estelle released her debut album on V2/J-did in October 2004. JL is also featured in her videoclip for "Free" (playing the piano). Lately, Legend has given her a major career boost - he's made her the first signing to his new Home School record label.
