Why did he leave?
Here's a message from Chris: Okay, as alot of people may or may not know now, I am no longer touring with John Legend. It was a great couple of years in many ways, and there were some things that sucked. But overall, the blessing of travelling the world and meeting so many great people, many of my idols, was off the hook. And damn, the women!! We had fun didn't we? I'm a blessed dude. But ultimately, there comes a time to move on. I asked our tour manager, and a good friend, Jeff Christie, when he thought it was a good time to make my move. He said, 'when it's time, you'll know." And it was time, I knew it. In the entire year of 2005, I was unable to perform my music at all with our busy schedule, although I did record. And performing is how I breathe. It was dope rocking for all those fans, but it wasn't my music, and that can be frustrating sometimes. So now, it's all about Chris Rob and crew. I am slowly making changes to put everything in order, but I'm doing it. I'm kind of tired of explaining what happened to people, but I'll put it like this; sometimes people don't know how highly you value yourself, and some people are straight haters. I am blessed enough to shine on my own terms, and I will continue doing so. If you never got a chance to see me perform on the tour, check out the "John Legend: Live at the House of Blues" dvd. To JL, thank you bro for introducing me to the world, and to the crew, much love to all of yall, you were my family for two years, and will always be. To all those who have supported me, and continue doing so, thank you, God Bless you, stay posted, and I'll make it worth your time for listening.
