Recent concerts by Beyonce, Garth Brooks and Celine Dion will be broadcast to US Troops worldwide on New Years Eve. AEG Network Live will broadcast the three concert films capturing the acts in recent performances. The broadcast will take place from 9pm Iraq time on New Years Eve. The show will with Celine Dion. Her 'A New Day' show from Vegas finished recently after a 5 year run. This special aired for the first time just a few weeks ago in US cinemas. At 11pm, the troops will be treated to 'New Year's Salute to the Troops', featuring 'The Beyonce Experience' and performances from Jay-Z and the recent Destiny's Child's Reunion. At 2am, Garth Brooks will be beamed in doing his 'One Artist, One City, One Time' show. "For our troops who give so much all year round, this is our chance to thank them the best way we know how, by providing them some of this year's finest entertainment," said John Rubey, President of AEG Network LIVE in a statement. AEG Live tour sin 2008 include Celine Dion's 'Taking Chances' tour and the Bon Jovi 2008 world tour. Concerts this year included Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera, Prince, Bon Jovi, Usher, Nickelback, Kenny Chesney, Rod Stewart, and Paul McCartney.

The hip hop mogul's new Las Vegas club reportedly failed to pass a health and safety inspection leaving his New Year's Eve plans in disarray. The boyfriend of R&B singer Beyonce Knowles was due to ring in the New Year at the latest branch of his upscale sports bar, The 40/40 Club, but the L.V. venue's opening will most probably be delayed after the surprising setback. Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton cites a source as saying, "Unless Jay-Z and his team miraculously come up with certain licenses and certificates by Sunday, then they won't be ablt to go on with their New Year's Eve party plans." And if that happens, then the rapper superstar will be forced to refund all tickets to the club's grand opening.
After trotting out and discarding a series of slogans over the years, Houston's official marketing agency is taking a new approach as it prepares to launch a $3 million campaign to enhance the city's national image. Instead of a snappy catchphrase, advertisements soon to appear in national publications will feature earnest testimonials from well-known current or former Houstonians such as singer Beyoncé Knowles, soccer star Brian Ching, heart surgeon Denton Cooley and former President George H.W. Bush and his wife, Barbara. Starting in February, the campaign will feature ads in the Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Continental Airlines' inflight magazine, Texas Monthly magazine and other publications, said Lindsey Brown, marketing director for the Greater Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau.
