BEYONCÉ A SHOW-COPPER
Posted on 12 Sep 2008 by Ewe
Beyoncé cops some attitude in Harlem yesterday morning as she films a portion of her new video, "If I Were a Boy." But even the uniform can't conceal that a boy she's not. Toting a Taser and handcuffs, the curvy R&B star made the ar resting appearance on West 119th Street near Lenox Avenue. Accompanied by her on-screen police partner, the sexy singer descended the steps of a brown stone and climbed into a patrol car. The single is set to be released on Oct. 7, along with a second song, "Single Ladies." The star's upcoming and as-yet-untitled album is a follow-up to "B'Day" from 2006, and has been touted as "her most personal, reflective and revelatory collection to date," accord ing to a statement. SEAN GARRETT ON BEYONCE: "SHE'S A DIVA"
Posted on 12 Sep 2008 by Ewe
One of our favorite singer/songwriters, Sean Garrett, spoke with Rap-Up TV about working with the “phenomenal” Beyoncé on her third album, due out November 18th. “I did this one song for her that’s gonna shake the clubs up. I always like to bring it on my homegirls,” he said. While S.G. was tight-lipped with details, he did drop one hint exclusively for Rap-Up TV: “Let’s just say she’s a diva…” In addition to working on his own album Turbo 919, the hitmaker is in the studio with Britney Spears planning “something really crazy.”

BEYONCE TO RELEASE NEW ALBUM IN NOVEMBER
Posted on 09 Sep 2008 by Ewe
R&B singer Beyonce will release her third solo album in the United States on November 18, her Columbia Records label said on Monday. The as-yet-untitled album marks the follow-up to her 2006 disc "B'Day," which opened at No. 1 on the U.S. pop chart in September 2006. Her first album apart from Destiny's Child, the 2003 release "Dangerously in Love," also went to No. 1. Columbia said the new album was Beyonce's "most personal, reflective and revelatory collection to-date," and noted that she co-wrote and co-produced all the songs. Two tracks from the album, "If I Were A Boy" and "Single Ladies," will be sent to radio on October 7. Beyonce's younger sister, Solange Knowles, debuted at No. 9 on the chart last week with her second album, "Sol-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams." BEYONCE STRUGGLES WITH WEIGHT AND ADDICTION TO PLAY ETTA JAMES
Posted on 08 Sep 2008 by Ewe
Beyonce has been piling on the pounds to play jazz and blues great Etta James in new movie Cadillac Records. The sexy singer/actress has reportedly gained 20 pounds (nine kilograms) for the role, but admits that wasn't the hardest part of her transformation. That came when she decided to visit a drop-in centre for drug addicts in Brooklyn, New York - where she studied James' drug issues. Beyonce says, "I was really afraid. I didn't know what I would see, because I'd never seen anything like that. "I didn't want to ask questions that were inappropriate, but (the people there) were very open and I have a new understanding. I never judge, but I just didn't understand how, if you had children and so many things to lose, you could be so deep into your addiction that you just let all of that go."

BEYONCE READIES THIRD ALBUM, VIDEO PLANS LEAK FOR "I'M JUST A BOY"
Posted on 08 Sep 2008 by Ewe
Rumors of Beyonce's third album gained traction this week with news of the star's new single and video "I'm Just A Boy." Performing a tribute to Etta James on Fashion Rocks over the weekend, Beyonce' remained mum about the highly anticipated follow up to 2006's "B-Day" rumored to be titled "Virtuoso Effect." However, casting for the singer's new video/single entitled "I'm Just A Boy" confirmed that she is indeed on the comeback trail. Slated to be shot this weekend, "I'm Just A Boy" becomes Beyonce's 20th music video and 15th solo single to hit since 2003. Helmed by Jake Nava, who worked with the singer on "Beautiful Liar" which also featured Shakira, the video is expected to have a similar theme to the "B'Day" single "Ring The Alarm." Although no release date has been confirmed, Beyonce's third solo album is expected to hit stores and online retailers by the end of the year. In related news, Beyonce's performance on Fashion Rocks is slated to air on CBS Tuesday.

COUPLES WATCH: BEYONCE & JAY-Z
Posted on 08 Sep 2008 by Ewe
Beyoncé, smiling while surrounded by friends and, of course, husband Jay-Z at a party for the Artful Dodger Collection at New York's Chelsea Art Museum. As they were led to their table, everyone at the bash stopped to get a look at the power couple. But the two were very mellow, sitting next to each other the entire time and bopping their heads to the music while still wearing their shades. Beyoncé did perk up when they played her song "Upgrade U," which features a cameo by her hubby, a partygoer tells us. Meanwhile, the deejay spun some Jay-Z hits too – and he seemed amused by one particular mashup. Noticeably missing from view: Beyoncé's $5 million wedding ring, though Jay-Z was sporting a band of his own.

BEYONCE'S $5M ENGAGEMENT RING
Posted on 07 Sep 2008 by Ewe
Beyonce Knowles, who attended Fashion Rocks, was spotted wearing an 18 carat rock that indicates her beau Jay-Z knew how to pick the right bling. For the first time, the “Bootylicious” singer publicly displayed her engagement ring on the red carpet for Fashion Rocks at Radio City Music Hall in N.Y.C. The singer, 27, who secretly married rapper Jay-Z in April, flashed an 18 carat flawless diamond by Lorraine Schwartz, valued at more than $5 million dollars, according to the jeweler. Neither Beyoncé nor Jay-Z have publicly confirmed their marriage but in recent weeks, Beyoncé’s younger sister Solange referred to Jay-Z as her brother-in-law during a television interview. Later in the evening, Beyoncé took off the ring for a duet with Justin Timberlake, but the sparkler was visible when she donned a short, blonde wig to sing a tribute to blues singer Etta James whom she portrays in an upcoming movie.

BEYONCE AT FASHION ROCKS

Her short blonde teased curls were more reminiscent of a pensioner than a pop princess. But there was nothing over-the-hill about Beyonce's stunning performance as she joined dozens of stars at last night's Fashion Rocks event. The former Destiny's Child singer, who is normally recognisable by her flowing tresses, stole the show with three incredible performances. For one she swopped her long locks for a short blonde 'do. But the new look isn't permanent. The Dreamgirls actress is to play legendary jazz singer Etta James in the upcoming film, Cadillac Records, a biopic about legendary record producer Leonard Chess.
The 27-year-old also perfomed in an incredible sequinned outfit which highlighted her every curve. She wore the clinging gold suit, with plunging neckline, for a sizzling duet with Justin Timerberlake of Ain't Nothing Like the Real Thing. The pair's performance channeled the classic song's original singers, Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell.
The fifth annual Fashion Rocks concert, at Radio City Music Hall in New York, was held to celebrate the relationship between music and fashion, while raising money for charity. Beyonce was one of dozens of Hollywood and music stars who turned out to perform at the fundraiser for Stand Up To Cancer, a program established by the Entertainment Industry Foundation to raise money for cancer research. She was joined on stage by Welsh singer Duffy, Mariah Carey, Natasha Bedingfield, Fergie, Rihanna and Miley Cyrus to sing their new charity song, Just Stand Up. Charlize Theron and fellow Oscar winner Hilary Swank introduced the collaboration.
